"It's pretty good to win one at my age," Overend said. "I had trained hard for Singlespeed Worlds and I still had good power in my legs from trying to push a big gear there. I've been doing this race for so many years, it's nice to come back and win one."
Overend, holding true to the No. 1 bib number that has been reserved for him over the years, finished in an impressive 1:44:07, nearly three minutes ahead of his competitors.
